WHG AT THE WORLD CONGRESS OF HERPETOLOGY (WHC10)

Last month, several members of our Wildlife Health Ghent team attended the 10th World Congress of Herpetology (WCH10) to present our latest research to fellow herpetologists.

An and Frank provided an overview of alternatives to animal experimentation in herpetological research; Ellen discussed the phenology of Bufo bufo declines; Andrea presented the axenic tadpole model he is developing; Kevin talked about sequence capture to genotype chytrid fungi; and Léa presented factors that could influence individual variation in disease resistance in salamanders – ongoing research from our GLOSSI project! The congress was held in Kuching, Malaysia – a perfect spot to look for amphibians in the evening after the talks were finished. We are looking forward to WCH11!
