MEET LARS, OUR NEWEST TEAM MEMBER AT WHG

Conservation and wildlife health are at the heart of our team’s mission, work that inspires dedication and curiosity. For Lars, that commitment began with his master’s thesis and now continues as he joins the team full-time, bringing his enthusiasm to ongoing projects.

Lars is an evolutionary biologist who first got a taste of WHG’s work during his master’s thesis. He focused on discovering genetic markers using differential gene expression analyses. It was there that he discovered a passion for bioinformatics and genomics. Now he’s eager to dive in completely. By applying genomics to the team’s research questions, he hopes to uncover disease-related genetic patterns and help address questions in population health and wildlife conservation.

Here is what Lars had to say for himself:

“I love being in the field studying wildlife, but I’ve also discovered a real passion for bioinformatics and genomics. I’m grateful to be joining the team. Here I have the chance to grow and apply my skills across multiple genomic areas. I hope to make new discoveries that will help the team advance its research.”
